STEWARDSHIP 360

STEWARDSHIP 360

We often associate stewardship mainly with the annual pledge campaign. Yet Christian stewardship reaches far beyond a single season. Thinking of 360 degree stewardship helps us see stewardship as a way of life rooted in God’s generosity.

At the center of Stewardship 360 is the understanding that everything we have is a gift from God. When we recognize the depth of that generosity, gratitude follows. Stewardship becomes all we do, with all we have been given, all the time. It is our response to that gratitude in all areas of our lives. From this foundation emerge five dimensions of stewardship that guide our life together.

  1. Annual Giving and Pledge Campaigns
Annual giving remains a core expression of stewardship, that builds up the kingdom of God through the financial support of St. Peter's mission and ministry, in the church and beyond its walls. Consider making a pledge at a level that is meaningful for your family.

  2. Community Engagement and Service
St. Peter's serves its neighbors in numerous meaningful ways. Stewardship celebrates the ways we serve those beyond our walls. Consider serving in one of St. Peter's Outreach ministries.

  3. Legacy Giving and Sustainable Funding
Legacy giving allows parishioners to support their congregation beyond their lifetime and helps ensure long-term ministry. Consider being a part of St. Peter's Cephas Society.

  4. Creation Care and Stewardship of Time
Stewardship includes how we care for creation and how we use the time God gives us. It also extends to how we care for our church buildings grounds and the spaces where ministry happens, making them more beautiful, safe and sustainable. Consider donating time to the work of our property committee.

  5. Spiritual Gifts and Discipleship
Each member of the Body of Christ has been equipped with spiritual gifts. Jesus' first words to his disciples were: "change" and "come and follow me." The calling to continually discern and use our gifts for ministry is central to stewardship. Consider serving in any of St. Peter's ministries in worship, fellowship or formation.

Stewardship 360 invites us to think of stewardship as a full-circle response to God’s generosity. So, "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap." Luke 6:38

So, it goes in the economy of the reign of God.
