PARISH ORGANIZATIONS

ALTAR GUILD

Tasked with preparing the altar and church for services each week as well as for baptisms and weddings, the Altar Guild is composed of 22 women divided into 4 teams. The Guild accepts donations for floral memorials and thanksgivings which provide the weekly altar flower arrangements, as well as for Easter and Christmas. Contact Wendy Mitchell, Altar Guild Director, at wmitch001@gmail.com if you're interested in joining this wonderful group!

CARING CARDS MINISTRY

Picture
On the second Thursday of each month, this group gets together to send get well cards, sympathy cards, birthday cards, as well as other words of encouragement to members of the congregation and beyond. If you would like to help this compassionate ministry of pastoral care, contact the parish office at stpeter2@optonline.net.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY

Jesus set an example for us to care for the sick and dying by praying for them to be healed; to comfort them and to give them hope. The Prayer Shawls given by St. Peter’s Episcopal Church are handmade by members of the congregation. They are typically given to those who have a serious illness as a tangible sign of the prayers of our congregation on their behalf, as well as our love and concern for them. If you or a loved one are included in the weekly Prayers of the People, then you may wish to receive a Prayer Shawl. Please contact the church office or the Rector for more information about receiving one. If you knit or crochet and would like to make Prayer Shawls or make a donation of yarn for this ministry, please contact the church office for more information.

PROPERTY COMMITTEE

The Property Committee meets ad hoc to review the future needs of the grounds and building and prepare a plan for the upcoming months. The Committee is responsible for the day to day maintenance of the Church, parish hall, and rectory. Budgets are submitted to the Finance Committee and Vestry for approval.  Volunteers are involved in planting and landscaping, painting, set-up & take-down for the annual picnic, and general maintenance and repair. For larger projects, the Property Committee also schedules appointments with contractors, and evaluates bids. If you are interested in participating, please contact John Garrison at johngarrison@optonline.net.
